The Psychological Model in Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Abstract
This paper introduces the school mental health services and that of the alcoholism which was carried out by psychologists. The school mental health services were performed by Y University, S mental health institute, Il-san public health center for students of the elementary school and the middle school in the Il-san districs. The purpose of the school mental health services are as follows : ¨ç Establishment of system for early detection and treatment of the unadapted students. ¨è Education and program development for improving the knowledge about unadapted student for teachers and parents on the mental health. ¨é Development of the mental health programs to solve these problems. The followings are main items for achieving the purpose : ¨ç Fundamental survey on students, teachers, and student¡¯s parents. ¨è Psychological tests. ¨é Education, program development, and enforcement of the developed programs for students, teachers, and student¡¯s parents. ¨ê Practicing the individual group therapy, and the telephone counseling. ¨ë Assessing the program efficiency. Most students, teachers, and student¡¯s, teachers, and student¡¯s parents were satisfied with its outcome.
The mental health services for the alcohol dependent patients, their families, children, and the citizen residing in Il-san district were as follows : ¨ç Enrollment of the alcohol dependent patients ¨è Practicing the education and various programs for the alcoholism ¨é Organization of the self-help meeting, ¨ê Performing various psychological tests, ¨ë Case management, ¨ì Publication of periodical news letters, ¨í Linking with the district hospitals, ¨î Public relation. Although the services were at the very fundamental stage, but the mental health services with high efficiency and systematic approach, it is important that the programs, suitable for Korean situations, should be developed with the mutual cooperation of government, private institutes, and various experts.
